Contemplation

This morning as I was getting ready for work, I looked out over the creek in our back yard to gain some of the peace that comes with looking at a bit of nature, some birds feeding, it is always something different. Today I saw something floating lazily downstream along the seemingly still surface. 'A leaf', I thought 'traveling the last part of its life's journey down the creek to bio-degrade and spring life anew' I took out the binoculars to have a closer look, only to discover that my leaf was in fact a juice box. The mind is a wonderful thing.

"Though different forms are perceived, they are in essence empty; yet in the emptiness one perceives forms.
Though different sounds are heard, that are empty; yet in the emptiness one perceives sounds.
Also different thoughts arise; they are empty, yet in the emptiness one perceives thoughts'
